On November 13, the D.C. Bar Law Student Community hosted its second annual Leadership Fellowship training, attended by 21 students from eight law schools, including all six D.C.-area schools, the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in New York, and the Southern University Law Center in Louisiana.

Committee Invites Comment on Proposed Rules Changes Relating to Client-Generated Engagement Letters and Outside Counsel Guidelines

The District of Columbia Bar’s Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee is seeking comments from D.C. Bar members, other lawyers, law firms, corporate legal departments, and non-lawyers about a group of proposed amendments to the D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct that would address issues arising from client-generated engagement letters and outside counsel guidelines.

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure is inviting comments on the qualifications and fitness of Judge Ronna Lee Beck, who is seeking recommendation for an initial appointment as a senior judge on the D.C. Superior Court upon her retirement in January.

Bar Pro Bono Center and held virtually on October 27 because of ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, Dr. Larry Richard, a leading expert on the psychology of lawyer behavior, explained why lawyers can be particularly vulnerable to stress.
