1) The Information We Collect and Store 

We may collect and store the following information from you when you visit

(a) When you create an account, we collect some personal information, such as your name, phone number, e-mail address, and home or business postal addresses. By providing this information to D.C. Bar you release D.C. Bar from any liability in relation to the security of such information. For your security, we encrypt the transmission of Sensitive Information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). D.C. Bar does not store credit card information you submit through this site. 

b) Log Data 

(a) When you use this Web site, we may record but not store information about your activity including your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, the Web page visited before you came to our Web site, information you search for on our Web site, locale preferences, date and time stamps associated with transactions, system configuration information, metadata concerning your Web site use, and other interactions with the Web site. 

c) Cookies  

(a) We use “cookies” to ensure you are able to log in to the site and stay logged in for the duration of your session. A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer that records your session identification information and nothing more. No personally identifying or sensitive information is stored in the cookies used by D.C. Bar.

In the course of using this Web site, we may collect personal information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Information”). Other than as described hereinabove, your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent.

We also collect some information (ourselves or using third-party services) using logging and cookies, which can sometimes be correlated with Personal Information. We use this information for the purposes stated herein as well as to monitor and analyze use of the Web site in order to improve its technical administration, functionality, and user-friendliness, and to verify users have the authorization needed to process transactions.

iii) prevent fraud or abuse of D.C. Bar, or its users
iv) protect D.C. Bar’s property rights
v) avoid the infringement of the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of third parties. 

c) Third-Party Sites

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our Web site. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

4) Security

We follow generally accepted standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. This Web site is scanned regularly for security vulnerabilities and is also PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant as determined by a PCI ASV (Payment Card Industry Approved Scanning Vendor). No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. This policy may be revised from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this location.
