The Insurance Law Community is for any attorney or other professional whose work involves insurance, whether in the corporate, transactional, regulatory, risk management, or litigation setting. For those who specialize in insurance, the Community brings together “both sides of the aisle”—those on the policyholder side and those on the insurance company side. The Community is a forum for exchanging best practices, educating members on the latest insurance law developments, mentoring younger members, and deepening the collegiality that exists already within the practice. You do not have to be a D.C. Bar member to join the Insurance Law Community.
The Community is also focused on educating members of other D.C. Bar Communities on principles of insurance law, which is critical because insurance touches almost every other practice area and it affects and must be understood by the solo practitioner, the in-house lawyer, the small-firm lawyer, the big-firm lawyer, and the pro bono lawyer alike. The Insurance Law Community serves to promote a deeper understanding of insurance law across the D.C. Bar, to facilitate the exchange of ideas between members, and to enhance the quality of the law in this area.
