Manuel Escalante
Manuel Escalante is a Bilingual Program Specialist with the Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN) at the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center. In this role, he serves as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, conducts intakes, and coordinates referrals for family law matters. He supports attorneys during clinics, manages client case files, assists with language access, and contributes to outreach and volunteer coordination. Manuel also helps develop pro se materials and maintains resources that connect clients to legal and non-legal services.
He brings over six years of experience in immigration, victim services, language access, and crisis response. Before joining the Pro Bono Center, Manuel worked as Training & Outreach Coordinator and Advocate at Volare (formerly Network for Victim Recovery of DC). He applies a trauma-informed, healing-focused approach to community education, storytelling, and systemic change efforts that promote equitable access to services.
