Learn Your Responsibilities as a Board Member at Our One-Day Boot Camp

The Center for Nonprofit Advancement and the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program have designed a one-day Boot Camp for individuals who have recently joined a nonprofit Board, and existing Board members who wish to enhance their skills.

Join us at Boot Camp for Nonprofit Board Members!

When: Saturday, February 21, 2015, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Where: D.C. Bar Conference Center, 1101 K Street NW, First Floor, Washington, DC 20005

The course will cover:

  • The Board's role in the governance of a nonprofit organization.
  • The Board's role in ensuring that the organization has sufficient funds to carry out its mission.
  • Providing proper oversight regarding the expenditure of those funds.
  • Evaluating and compensating the CEO.
  • Assessing risk regarding the organization's operations.
  • Planning for the future of the organization.

Professionals with expertise in running nonprofit organizations, including lawyers who work with nonprofit organizations, certified public accountants that specialize in nonprofit accounting, fundraising professionals and nonprofit executives who have many years of experience in strategic planning will teach the Boot Camp.

$55 per Individual.
$45 per Individual in a group of two.
$35 per Individual in a group of three or more.
