Superior Court Issues Order Regarding Access to Landlord Tenant Records

On October 25 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 21-13 granting the D.C. Department of Human Services (DHS) access to court data from landlord tenant cases, including sealed records, to analyze the correlation between evictions and shelter stays. DHS may use the data for the purposes described in the Restricted Data Use Agreement Between the D.C. Courts and DHS, but it shall not disclose this information to any other person or for any other purpose without prior approval of the D.C. Superior Court.

D.C. Courts Release 2024 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll

Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby of the D.C. Court of Appeals and Chief Judge Milton C. Lee, Jr., of the D.C. Superior Court have released the 14th annual Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll, recognizing the contributions of those D.C. Bar members and other lawyers authorized to perform pro bono legal work in the District of Columbia who completed 50 hours or more of pro bono service during the prior calendar year.
