Comment on Qualifications of Superior Court Judge Herbert B. Dixon Jr.

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure is inviting comment on the qualifications and fitness of Judge Herbert B. Dixon Jr., who is seeking reappointment as a senior judge on D.C. Superior Court. Judge Dixon’s current term expires on October 31, 2025.

Members of the bench, bar, and general public may submit comments by mail to D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure, 515 Fifth Street NW, Room 246, Washington, DC 20001 or by email to [email protected]. In addition, comments may be submitted through an online survey available on the commission’s website or by using the direct link. The deadline is July 21.

The identity of any person submitting comments will be kept confidential, unless the commenter authorizes the disclosure of his or her name.

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to the president of the United States six candidates for judicial vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Craig S. Iscoe and Judge Kimberley S. Knowles.

JNC Announces Superior Court Vacancy

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission (JNC) is inviting qualified individuals to apply for a vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia resulting from the resignation of Judge Maurice A. Ross, effective February 27, 2026. The deadline to apply for the vacancy is noon on March 12.
