Bar Seeks Candidates for NLSP Board

The D.C. Bar Board of Governors is accepting applications from D.C. Bar members interested in serving on the Neighborhood Legal Services Program (NLSP) board of directors. The deadline to apply is September 6.

Candidates must be licensed attorneys who are supportive of the Legal Services Corporation Act and have an interest in, and knowledge of, the delivery of quality legal services to individuals living on a low income.

To apply, submit a résumé and a cover letter with a description of relevant qualifications and experience. Submit materials via email to Crystal White, board and committee liaison, at [email protected].

Appointments to the NLSP will be approved by the Board of Governors in November. All applicants will be notified regarding the status of their applications shortly thereafter.

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to the president of the United States six candidates for judicial vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Craig S. Iscoe and Judge Kimberley S. Knowles.

JNC Announces Superior Court Vacancy

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission (JNC) is inviting qualified individuals to apply for a vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia resulting from the resignation of Judge Maurice A. Ross, effective February 27, 2026. The deadline to apply for the vacancy is noon on March 12.

The D.C. Bar is paying tribute to Robert Lester Weinberg, president of the Bar from 1978 to 1979, who died of natural causes on February 19 at his home in Arlington, Virginia. He was 94.
