JNC Announces Superior Court Vacancy

February 27, 2026

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission (JNC) is inviting qualified individuals to apply for a vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia resulting from the resignation of Judge Maurice A. Ross, effective February 27, 2026. The deadline to apply for the vacancy is noon on March 12.

Individuals who submitted an application for the vacancies created by the retirement of Judges Craig S. Iscoe and Kimberley S. Knowles need only submit a Letter of Interest, JNC Form 21A, and a recent MPD Form 70; these applicants do not need to submit the additional forms requested in Form 21A.

Application materials and instructions are available on the JNC website. Questions concerning the application process for judicial vacancies should be directed to Executive Director Tracy B. Nutall at 202-879-0478 or [email protected].
