October 04, 2019

Elaine WeissOn November 12 the D.C. Bar will host a book talk and signing with award-winning journalist Elaine Weiss, author of the highly acclaimed book The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote. The event is the first in a series of programs the Bar will be presenting in the next few months leading up to its 2020 Conference on June 24 to 26, focused on the centennial of the women’s right to vote.

Hailed as a “riveting, nail-biting political thriller” with powerful parallels to today’s political environment, The Woman’s Hour is currently being adapted for the small screen through a partnership between Hillary Clinton and Steven Spielberg.

The event takes place at the Bar’s headquarters, 901 4th Street NW. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the lecture begins at 5:30, followed by the book signing and reception. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

This program is presented by the D.C. Bar in partnership with D.C. Bar Communities; the Energy Bar Association; the Federal Communications Bar Association; the Greater Washington Area Chapter, Women Lawyers Division, National Bar Association; the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia; the Inter-American Bar Association, D.C. Chapter; the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association; the Washington Council of Lawyers; and the Women’s Bar Association.
