D.C. Bar Hosts Virtual ‘Meet the Next Chief Judge’

May 26, 2020

On June 9, the D.C. Bar is cosponsoring a virtual forum for members of the bar and the community at large to meet the three D.C. Superior Court judges who have applied to become the court’s next chief judge, replacing Judge Robert E. Morin who is retiring this fall.

The Bar is hosting the forum via Zoom from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Click here to register. Karen E. Evans, a partner at The Cochran Firm and CCE board director, will serve as moderator.

Presented by the Council for Court Excellence (CCE) and cosponsored by several bar associations and legal organizations, the forum is an opportunity for attendees to hear from Judges Anita Josey-Herring, Milton Lee Jr., and Lynn Leibovitz about their priorities and approaches if selected as chief judge.

Judge Morin, 67, began serving as chief judge of the Superior Court in October 2016. He joined the court in 1996, and over the course of 24 years he has served in its criminal division, civil division, and family court. Morin is set to retire on September 30, 2020.
