Comment on Reappointment of Judges Beckwith and Dayson

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure invites comment on the qualifications and fitness of D.C. Court of Appeals Judge Corinne A. Beckwith, who is applying for reappointment as associate judge, and D.C. Superior Court Judge Danya A. Dayson, who requesting reappointment as associate judge.

Members of the bench, bar, and general public may complete an online survey or submit comments by mail to Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure for the District of Columbia, 515 Fifth Street NW, Room 246, Washington, DC 20001, or by email to [email protected]. Alternatively, comments may be submitted orally or in writing to Executive Director Moses Cook at [email protected] or Deputy Executive Director Catherine Bruno at [email protected], or to any individual member of the commission.

The deadline to comment is May 6.

The identity of any person submitting comments will be kept confidential, unless the commenter authorizes the disclosure of their name.

Bar has named retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer as the recipient of its 2026 Thurgood Marshall Award for his extraordinary commitment and initiative in pursuing equal justice and opportunity for all Americans. Breyer will be recognized at the Bar’s annual Celebration of Leadership on June 18.
