Superior Court Extends Electronic Filing Deadlines

October 25, 2022

On October 24 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 22-29 regarding its conversion to a new case management and electronic filing system on October 31. Electronic filing will not be possible from midnight on October 23 through October 30. Therefore, any filing deadline in Civil, Probate, or Tax Division cases that falls between October 24 and November 7 is extended to November 8 for all filers.

Previously, the court issued Order 22-28 stating that the extension applies only to those who are ordinarily required to file electronically.

Also, any person who is ordinarily required to file electronically may, but is not required to, deliver a paper pleading or filing to the clerk’s office during the one-week period when electronic filing is not possible.
