Board Report and Orders (March 26, 1996)
Summary: In this criminal matter from the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and reciprocal matter from Virginia, the board recommends that Cerroni be suspended for twelve months with reinstatement conditioned upon his completion of continuing legal education courses approved by bar counsel. Cerroni was convicted on one count of making a false statement to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The board also concluded that Cerroni's conduct in several related matters involved dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation, and constituted criminal acts that reflected adversely on his honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer.
DCCA Order (February 17, 1994)
Summary: The court ordered Cerroni suspended based upon a judgment of conviction in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and directed the Board on Professional Responsibility to initiate a formal proceeding for determination of the nature of the final discipline to be imposed, and specifically to review the elements of the crime for which Cerroni was sentenced for the purpose of determining whether the crime involves moral turpitude.
