Summary: In a reciprocal matter from Maryland, the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed functionally identical reciprocal discipline and suspended Narvaiz for 90 days, with reinstatement conditioned on his reinstatement to practice law by the state of Maryland and a showing of fitness. In Maryland, Narvaiz was found to have failed to provide a written retainer agreement, to deposit unearned advance fees in trust, to achieve the goals of a representation, to produce an accounting of the unearned fee, and to refund the unearned portion of the advance fee despite promises to do so.
