Summary: In re David J. Bartone. Bar No. 411044. May 12, 2021. Disciplinary Counsel issued Bartone an informal admonition. While retained to represent three merchants in individual matters to negotiate removal of their businesses from the Member Alert to Control High-Risk Merchants list, Bartone failed to keep the clients reasonably informed about the status of their matters and to promptly comply with reasonable requests for information in violation of Rule 1.4(a). In a fourth matter, while retained to represent a client in an employment discrimination matter, he failed to put the terms and limited scope of the representation in a written fee agreement, violating Rule 1.5(b).
