Summary: In a reciprocal matter from North Carolina, the D.C. Court of Appeals suspended Kennon for three years with fitness, and further conditioned reinstatement upon satisfaction of the requirements imposed by the North Carolina State Bar as functionally equivalent reciprocal discipline. North Carolina suspended Kennon for giving legal advice to unrepresented persons whose interests were in conflict, or had a reasonable possibility of being in conflict, with Kennon’s clients; unlawfully obstructing another party’s access to evidence; counseling a witness to leave the jurisdiction for the purpose of being unavailable as a witness at trial; and engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.
