While retained to represent a client in the appeal of a criminal matter, McDaniel commingled advanced, unearned fees with his own funds when he placed unearned fees paid to him by the client into his business operating account where he also held his own funds and law firm funds, without his client’s informed consent as required by In re Mance, 980 A.2d 1196 (D.C. 2009).
