Summary: The D.C. Court of Appeals disbarred Matisik for violations of Rules 1.1(a), 1.1(b), 1.3(a), 1.3(b)(1), 1.3(c), 1.4(a), 1.4(b), 1.15(a), 1.15(e), 1.16(d), 5.5(a), and 8.4(c). Matisik’s misconduct arose out of his representation of a nonprofit organization in connection with its annual registration in states in which it sought charitable contributions. Matisik misappropriated entrusted client funds by spending advance fees before completing any work for the client.
