Summary: The D.C. Court of Appeals granted Mance’s petition for reinstatement, subject to the following conditions: (1) that he not engage in solo practice (a restriction that, during oral argument, he indicated a willingness to accept) for a period of three years; (2) that, within six months before resuming the solo practice of law, he attend law practice management training focused on computer-based case management and law firm financial management; and (3) that, at least 60 days before resuming the solo practice of law, he inform the executive attorney of the Board on Professional Responsibility of his intent to do so, to facilitate appointment of a practice monitor, who will monitor Mr. Mance’s solo practice for one year after he resumes solo practice and who shall report to the executive attorney every three months during that period.
