Learn by Doing: Motions and Oral Advocacy Workshop

Date & Time: Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 9:30 am to 4:45 pm

CLE Credit: Yes

Event Description
6.0 Credit Hours

This class will help you to improve your advocacy skills when making substantive motions to the court.  You will learn how to develop a technically sound and persuasive approach to making and arguing motions. The program will contain a mix of topical presentations on various aspects of motions practice and “learn-by-doing” workshops.  Each participant will have the opportunity to argue a Motion to Dismiss and A Motion to Compel Discovery from both the plaintiff and defendant perspectives. Experienced practitioners will serve as faculty and will provide practical advice in a confidential, constructive, and positive manner. While the program challenges participants to perform at their best, its primary goal is to afford attendees the opportunity to build upon the skills they have, take what they learn, and apply it during their subsequent performances, and walk away with a better understanding of how to improve their trial skills. Class is limited to 32 registrants.
