Keynote Presentation – How to Find Joy in Difficult Times … And why to do so is so important! – Kimberley L. Berlin, LCSW, CSAC, MAC, CCTP, SAP
What happened to Joy? Using neuroscience intertwined with ancient insights this session offers a compelling approach to altering our conditioned unhappiness and transforming it into intentional joy. We can re-train our brains to experience automatic positive responses and bring insights that can free us from needless suffering and conflict. Doing so can transform our lives, the lives of those around us, and our world.

Brown Bag at Home – Lowering Stress Through Connecting with Your Body – Elyse D. Schunkewitz, LCSW
Many of us struggle to consistently perform at our peak abilities not because our mind isn't working hard enough but because our nervous system isn't functioning optimally. In order to achieve high performance, we need to learn how to activate our brain in a way that makes sense and is aligned with our goals. Through a series of exercises and movements based in applied neuroscience, participants will learn how to achieve stronger focus, increase energy levels, lower stress, and reduce stiffness and pain.

1:00 – 1:10 p.m.
Break

1:10 – 2:00 p.m.
Afternoon Session - Decluttering Your Financial Life – Alp Atabek & Jason Dahl, AFS Financial Group, LLC
Arguably the most valuable aspect of decluttering is the psychological boost from that lifted burden of clutter. Finally getting rid of that overflowing box of receipts in the closet or those old tax files jamming your desk drawer every time you go to open it is invaluable for both your mental and overall financial state of mind. In this workshop, we’ll discuss what you should keep paper copies of – and for how long – versus what you can leverage digital files for, from paycheck stubs and credit card statements to investment account statements, medical bills, and income tax returns. Reviewing best practices for estate documents, ensuring your online presence is fully secure, and disposing of confidential, private documents safely are also on the agenda.

2:05 – 2:35 p.m.
Closing Session – Yoga for Mental Peace – Dana Shaker, Esq.
We will close the day’s conversations with an active session where we’ll talk about mental peace and do a short yoga practice.
