Uploaded Document Formats

CommonSpot provides several facilities for content contributors to upload files created and managed outside of CommonSpot, such as Word, PDF, or Visio documents, or images.

Use the Uploaded Document Formats option to define:

File types defined through this administrative option determine which types are available to contributors uploading documents, and which types become available for personalized upload file tracking through My Content - My Uploaded Documents.

Expand Content Creation in the left panel of the Site Administration Dashboard, and click Uploaded Document Formats to add or modify settings for document file formats for your site.

The Uploaded Document Formats dialog, as shown below, displays upload file formats currently allowed at your site and is initially prepopulated with popular standard file formats. You can add or remove file types from this list at any time.

Click to sort by name, file type extension, MIME type, defined file size upload limitations or whether the file type is indexable, that is, whether files of this type are retrievable in full-text searches. Set this parameter in the Add or Edit Uploaded Document Format dialog.

Click the edit icon to update an existing document format record or click Add New Format to make a new upload file format available for your content contributors.

The Add Uploaded Document Format dialog displays in either entry or edit mode.

Click the security icon to view or modify upload permissions for the selected file type.

Remove individual items by clicking the associated delete icon , or select multiple items, click Delete Selected from the More Actions dropdown, then click Go. You can optionally select/deselect all.
