Set up Search Collections Outside the Site

When validating auxiliary files CommonSpot will ignore registered search collections. However, if the collection ever becomes unregistered, the entire search engine directory tree will need to be scanned and copied. For this reason, PaperThin recommends that you create a new search collection in a directory outside of the site’s directory structure when setting up Static Content Generation. If you have existing search collections configured, move or recreate these outside of the site’s directory tree.
