Be Aware of State Changes

If your servers are somewhat resource constrained, you need to be cognizant of changing the state of primary navigation pages (or any page linked to from many other pages). For example, if you changed the status of the CommonSpot demo About Us page from “static” to “dynamic” by creating a dynamic custom ColdFusion script element, CommonSpot would need to clear cache for each and every page in the site and generate a new static version to access the updated About Us page. If this process took place during normal daytime CommonSpot processing, your server would be handling the extra load of the background process.  Try to schedule updates that change page state to times of minimal server load.
