Comment on Proposed Amendment to Rule XI

November 4, 2015

The District of Columbia Court of Appeals is seeking comments on the proposed deletion of section 19(f) of Rule XI of the D.C. Court of Appeals Rules Governing the Bar. In its recommendation, the Board of Governors of the D.C. Bar stated that section 19(f) is largely duplicative of Rule 1.15 of the D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct, which sets out the ethical obligations of lawyers on financial record keeping for client trust accounts.

Comments are due by December 28. Ten copies of any comments must be sent to the Clerk, D.C. Court of Appeals, 430 E Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. All comments submitted will be available to the public.

For additional information about the proposals, contact Karen Savransky, senior managing attorney at the D.C. Bar, at ksavransky@dcbar.org.
