Court Amends Procedures to Bar Exam

May 6, 2015

On May 1 the District of Columbia Court of Appeals released an order, effective immediately, amending Rule 46 (b)(8)(v), which addresses the procedures for administering the bar exam.

The amendment gives the director of the Committee on Admissions the authority to permit use of prearranged computers during the bar exam, where it previously only included typewriters. The rule now reads:

(v) Examination booklets shall be furnished by the Committee. Computers or typewriters furnished by the applicants may be used by prearrangement with the Director.

Any interested parties with concerns about the amendment can submit written comments to Clerk, District of Columbia Court of Appeals, 430 E Street NW, Suite 209, Washington, D.C. 20001. The deadline for comments is June 30.
