Bar Seeks Candidates for Various Committee and Board Vacancies

The D.C. Bar Board of Governors is seeking candidates for appointment in the fall to the following standing committees: Attorney/Client Arbitration Board, Clients’ Security Fund, Communities, Continuing Legal Education, Global Legal Practice, Judicial Evaluation, Lawyer Assistance, Leadership Development, Legal Ethics, Nominations, Pro Bono, Regulations/Rules/Board Procedures and Rules of Professional Conduct Review.

Nonlawyer candidates are encouraged to apply for appointment to the Attorney/Client Arbitration Board, Global Legal Practice, Lawyer Assistance and Legal Ethics Committees.

The deadline to apply for these vacancies is August 3. Descriptions of D.C. Bar standing committees can be found here.

Additionally, the Bar is seeking candidates to fill vacancies on the board of directors of the Neighborhood Legal Services Program (NLSP). Candidates must be licensed attorneys who are supportive of the Legal Services Corporation Act and have an interest in, and knowledge of, the delivery of quality legal services to the poor. The deadline to apply for NLSP vacancies is September 14.
