Superior Court Seeks Comments on Proposed Amendments to Criminal Procedure Rules

The D.C. Superior Court is seeking comments from D.C. Bar members and the general public on proposed amendments to Rules 12.4, 45, 49, 100–17, and 119 of the Superior Court Rules of Criminal Procedure. Comments are due November 27

Among the notable changes, Rule 12.4 now includes a subsection addressing disclosure of organizational victims; Rules 45 and 49 have been updated to reflect new filing and service provisions found in Criminal Rule 49; Rule 101 amends the assignment of cases; Rule 111 now requires a party to ascertain and state whether the other party consents to a continuance; and Rule 113 specifies witness pay and travel allowance. Rules 100, 102–110, and 114–115 have been deleted.
