Meet Your Future Leaders at the D.C. Bar’s Candidate Forum

April 9, 2019

On May 1 the D.C. Bar will hold a candidate forum to give members the opportunity to meet and hear directly from colleagues running for leadership positions for the 2019–2020 term.

President-elect candidates Geoffrey M. Klineberg and Charles C. Lemley will speak about their vision for the Bar, including their priorities during their term if elected. The president-elect serves for one year before becoming president, continuing in office for a third year as immediate past president.

Klineberg is a partner at Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick, P.L.L.C., where he focuses on administrative law and appellate litigation, representing clients in matters before the Federal Communications Commission as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court and various federal district and appellate courts. Lemley is a partner at Wiley Rein LLP, where he represents clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, primarily professional liability coverage and malpractice litigation in federal and state courts.

At the forum, attendees also will get the chance to get to know the candidates for the Bar’s Board of Governors, as well as those running for seats in the ABA House of Delegates, including one for under 36. Additionally, nominees for the D.C. Bar Communities’ Steering Committees will be on hand to meet and mingle with members.

The D.C. Bar’s 2019 general and Communities elections opens on Tuesday, April 30. Voting will be exclusively online this year. The last day to vote is Friday, May 24.

The candidate forum takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the D.C. Bar headquarters, 901 4th Street NW. Food and entertainment will be provided. To RSVP, please email [email protected].
