The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure is inviting comments from the bench, bar, and general public on the qualifications of two judges seeking to continue their judicial service.

The commission is reviewing the qualifications and fitness of Judge Juliet J. McKenna, who is seeking reappointment to another 15-year term as an associate judge on the D.C. Superior Court, and Judge John R. Fisher, who is requesting recommendation for an initial appointment as a senior judge on the D.C. Court of Appeals upon his retirement on August 22, 2020.

The deadline for comments is July 2 for Judge McKenna, and June 30 for Judge Fisher. Comments may be submitted by mail to the D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure, 515 Fifth Street, N.W., Room 246, Washington, D.C. 20001, or by email at [email protected]. Comments may also be submitted by completing an online survey for Judge McKenna or Judge Fisher

The identity of any person submitting comments will be kept confidential unless the commenter authorizes the disclosure of his or her name.

For more information or to request a hard copy of the survey, contact the commission’s executive director, Cathaee J. Hudgins, at 202-727-1363 or [email protected].
