Comment on Candidates for Appointment, Reappointment to Senior Judge Status

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure is inviting comments from the bench, bar, and the general public regarding the qualifications of three judges seeking to continue their judicial service. The deadline for comments is Tuesday, April 30.

The commission is reviewing the qualifications and fitness of Judge John M. Ferren, who is seeking recommendation for reappointment to another two-year term as senior judge on the D.C. Court of Appeals; Judge John H. Bayly Jr., who is seeking reappointment to another two-year term as senior judge on the D.C. Superior Court; and Judge Michael L. Rankin, who is retiring and seeking an initial appointment to a four-year term as senior judge on the Superior Court.

Comments may be submitted in writing to the D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure, 515 Fifth Street, N.W., Room 246, Washington, D.C., 20001; by email; or through an online survey available on the commission’s website. Comments may also be submitted using the direct link for Judge Ferren, and the direct link for Judges Bayly and Rankin.

The identity of any person submitting comments will be kept confidential, unless the commenter authorizes the disclosure of his or her name.
