Advocacy & Justice Clinic

About the Clinic

The Pro Bono Center Advocacy & Justice Clinic is a partnership with legal services providers and many of the District’s largest law firms and government agencies. The clinic provides full representation in housing, family, public benefits, personal injury defense, and consumer law matters. More than 300 cases were placed last year.

For more information, please contact Managing Attorney Vanessa Batters-Thompson at VBatters-Thompson@dcbar.org.

Volunteering

The Advocacy & Justice Clinic's work is principally sustained by volunteers from participating law firms or federal agencies. Please refer to the list of clinic participants. If you are an employee of a participating organization, please contact your employer’s pro bono or volunteer coordinator to arrange to volunteer for the clinic.

If your employer is not a clinic participant, please consider asking your employer to become a clinic participant. Qualified independent volunteers may also apply to accept a case through the Advocacy & Justice Clinic. Please see details about the requirements for and benefits of volunteering here.
