Need nonlitigator volunteers?
Malpractice insurance for volunteers:
Intake hours:
During the academic year and summer session:;10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; During school breaks: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Non-english services?
Spanish, Amharic
Opportunities for attorneys not admitted in D.C.:
Yes, if firm or government attorney will enter appearance to cover pro hac vice requirements for litigation cases, non-D.C. attorneys could do intake but would need some training.
Need paralegal/law students:
Program has income eligibility guidelines.

DC Law Students in Court is a dynamic force for justice in the District of Columbia. Our mission is to provide free, high-quality legal services to low-income District of Columbia residents while teaching and inspiring the next generation of social justice lawyers. We are committed to protecting the legal rights of vulnerable men, women, and children who have civil, criminal, and housing legal problems that originated in the District. Our steady presence in the courts serves as a vital check on a system that favors people with counsel and resources over people without.
