Types of services:
APALRC provides linguistically accessible and culturally appropriate legal services to low-income Asian Americans who have limited English proficiency and who live in the Metro-DC region. Our services range from advice and counsel, brief service to full representation on a range of issues such as abuse prevention, crime victim assistance, disability, employment, family, immigration, public assistance and community development. APALRC also has a legal interpreter project that has a roster of 40 interpreters who speak about 20 languages. These interpreters are trained to conduct interpretation in legal settings.
Volunteer needs:
Bilingual law students, attorneys and interpreters. Community legal workshop and clinics, transactional work for small business owners, full representation, and appeals
