Bar Services

D.C. Bar members who include their e–mail addresses on their registration statement will receive the E–Brief, a monthly electronic newsletter with timely announcements and important information from the D.C. Bar. The E–Brief usually delivers short items in each edition with links to more details on the Bar’s Web site.

E–mail Communication
Members who provide their e–mail addresses to the Bar are kept up to date instantly whenever the Bar distributes important announcements about Bar matters as well as the practice of law in the District of Columbia. Provide your e–mail address now by logging into your member profile.

Legal Career Center
A dynamic way to find a new position or to advertise an opening is the D.C. Bar Career Center on the D.C. Bar’s Web site. An extensive listing of the professional opportunities enables job seekers and recruiters to connect electronically.

Mailing Lists
Members are eligible to purchase mailing labels at a discount to distribute announcements to other D.C. Bar members on changes in firm, address, phone number, or position. Mailing labels are also used by non–Bar–related organizations for commercial purposes. Members may request that their name be removed from all mailings with the exception of the Bar–related mailings.

A number of substantive publications to assist lawyers in their practice are available through the Bar’s Communications Office, the Bar’s Sections Office, and the Bar’s Continuing Legal Education Office.

Washington Lawyer
All Bar members receive a subscription to Washington Lawyer. Published 11 times annually, the magazine contains full-length features on the latest legal issues, relevant practice new, career development tips, ethics updates, and much more.
