Learn the law and process for handling DUI cases in the District of Columbia under the Comprehensive Impaired Driving Act of 2012. This law is a major overhaul of the DUI law, providing stiffer penalties, reinstating the breath alcohol testing for suspected drunken drivers, and giving prosecutors additional tools in court if repeat offenders refuse a BAC (blood alcohol content) test. You will learn about pre-arrest screening, how to administer field sobriety tests, and possible defenses to impaired driving cases.
