New Procedures in D.C. Superior Court for Foreclosures

Date & Time: Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 5:15 pm

CLE Credit: Yes

Event Description
2.0 Credit Hours

The District of Columbia has historically been a non-judicial foreclosure jurisdiction, but within the last year lenders have started filing foreclosure actions in the D.C. Superior Court where there are now hundreds of pending matters.  As a result of the shift from non-judicial foreclosures, the Superior Court has developed a new process for handling these cases.  In this course, you will hear from practitioners who regularly appear on the new Superior Court foreclosure docket.  The course will cover possible causes of action and defenses, as well as a detailed explanation of the court's new process.  The faculty for this course is attorneys who were closely involved in the creation of the new foreclosure docket, representing the perspective of both lenders and homeowners.
