Event Description

The panelists will review the current state of the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP), focusing on recent developments and the options that are currently available to US persons with undisclosed foreign accounts and assets, including (1) the streamlined procedures and non-willful certification, (2) the OVDP, (3) late Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) filings, and (4) delinquent international information returns related to offshore assets.

For taxpayers already in the OVDP, the panelists will also discuss the factors influencing the decision whether to "opt out" of the program and review recent developments for taxpayers who have elected to opt out.
