Event Description
This program will focus on the legal aspects of naming a guardian for a minor child, planning ideas for guardianship provisions in Wills, termination of custodial accounts, special trust provisions and beneficiary designations for minors, the duty to inform and report to a trust beneficiary who attains age 18, and ethical considerations in multi-generational planning. Procedural issues in probating estates with minors will also be addressed including: limitations on distributions to minors; guardianship v. custody and the standby guardian statute.
