The D.C. Bar Foundation is seeking nominations for its 22nd Jerrold Scoutt Prize, given annually to a public interest attorney who has devoted much of his or her career to serving low–income residents of the District of Columbia.
Eligible nominees are attorneys currently working full–time with, or who have been employed full–time for a significant portion of their legal career by, a nonprofit organization that provides direct, hands–on legal services to the District’s poor or otherwise disadvantaged residents. Nominees must have demonstrated a compassionate concern for clients while exhibiting a high degree of skill representing them.
Nominations must be in writing—limited to three pages—and must include the nominee’s curriculum vitae. Articles of interest and letters of support are encouraged.
Application materials must be submitted electronically by 5 p.m. on November 7 to D.C. Bar Foundation Executive Director Katherine Garrett at email@example.com.
The Jerrold Scoutt Prize, created by Zuckert, Scoutt & Rasenberger, L.L.P. in honor of its founding partner, awards a stipend of $2,500 to the winner. The prize will be presented at the 2014 D.C. Bar Judicial Reception on May 15.
