Ranked 26th in Golf Digest’s “2007 List of Toughest Golf Courses in America,” this course rewards “mind-over-matter” golf as the fairways and greens can be visually daunting but quite playable.
Not only is the D.C. Bar Golf Tournament an enjoyable day with friends and colleagues, but it also highlights the Bar’s Membership Benefits Program, proceeds from which help support the many worthwhile non-dues-funded Bar activities. Current sponsors from the program include ABA Retirement Funds, Bank of America, DHL, Forrest T. Jones & Company, and GEICO.
The outing begins at noon with check-in/registration, an open range for warming up, and lunch. The shotgun start is at 1 p.m. (scramble format). Once all players have completed their rounds, the day will conclude with dinner, a raffle, and an awards presentation with trophies going to the top three teams.
D.C. Bar members can team up with clients, coworkers, summer associates, or other non-Bar members. The reasonable $180 per-player cost includes greens and cart fees, practice range, lunch, refreshments throughout the day, buffet dinner, raffle ticket, D.C. Bar Golf Tournament gift, and more. As with every D.C. Bar Golf Tournament, players also will participate in skill contests on the course, such as a Closest-to-Pin contest at hole 14—a deceptively tricky Par 3 with a clean view of the flag, but a mercilessly undulating green.
The golf tournament is always a popular event, so register early!
