As a convenience to members, the D.C. Bar has begun accepting American Express as a form of payment for dues, section memberships, registrations, and publications.

This new payment option brings to three the cards accepted by the Bar, joining Visa and MasterCard.

Using any of these credit cards enables Bar members to pay dues instantly online. Bar dues amounts for 2009-10 are $224 for active members, $126 for inactive members, and $113 for judicial members. Dues must be received by August 17 to avoid a $30 late fee. Members who do not pay dues and/or applicable late fees by September 30, 2009 face automatic suspension of their law license and incur a $50 reinstatement fee.
