An interactive e–mail list is a program that automatically sends messages to multiple e–mail addresses. “Listserv” is the trademarked name of the e–mail list technology used by the D.C. Bar.
Section e–mail lists are discussion groups organized around topics common interest to members of a sponsoring section. Each list maintains a reviewable archive of past postings and can be configured to send participants full messages or digests, either immediately upon posting or once daily, as designated by the participant.
Participation is limited to D.C. Bar members who are members of a sponsoring section. To become a participant, a section member must “opt–in,” agreeing to a set of Terms and Conditions. To opt–in, enter your user name and password in the fields above.
In addition to the Terms and Conditions of Use, upon joining the list, new participants are provided with a less formal document, setting out expectations about list etiquette.
Participants can unsubscribe at any time. Their participation can also be suspended or terminated, should they discontinue membership in a sponsoring section or violate the Terms and Conditions of Use.
