Volunteer lawyers from the Labor and Employment Law Section are needed to staff the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program Advice and Referral Clinic.
It’s Direct!
Once a month for a few hours (from 9:30 a.m. until around 1:00 p.m.),
volunteer attorneys give basic legal advice, provide brief services,
and refer clients to the Bar’s Pro Bono Program clinics, area
legal service providers, or other resources for assistance. All legal
issues are governed by D.C. or federal law.
It’s Easy!
Volunteers come from private practice, public interest organizations,
and the government. No volunteer attorney is expected to take on any
cases through the clinic.
It’s Rewarding!
Client questions cover a variety of issues, and Section volunteers
provide expert assistance to other volunteer lawyers and provide direct
service to clinic clients. Section volunteers should have 3-5 years
of employment law experience.
