- The section’s steering committee has established eight substantive and procedural standing committees to carry out the objectives of the section. All active, inactive, and judicial members of the D.C. Bar and section subscribers are eligible to serve on any of the section’s standing committees. Membership on a standing committee is free. Nonmembers of the D.C. Bar also are eligible to join any of the section’s standing committees, so long as they are subscribers of the section. However, a subscriber may not serve as a standing committee chair or vice chair. In July, section cochairs, with the advice and consent of the section steering committee, appointed the following new or returning members of the section to serve as chairs or vice chairs of each standing committee.
- Meetings
- The section’s standing committees meet at least four times per year. Contact the relevant standing committee chair to find out about the section standing committee meetings.
- Additional Section Posts
- Other than standing committees, the steering committee may create and appoint members of the section, subscribers, and interested persons to task forces or working groups with specific purposes. In addition, the steering committee or the chairs of any section standing committee may appoint members, subscribers, or interested persons to serve as program coordinators for specific section programs. Contact a member of the steering committee or a standing committee chair to volunteer to serve the section.
