As part of its community outreach efforts, the International Law Section is seeking volunteers for the following projects:
D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program Free Legal Advice and Referral Clinic
The Immigration and Human Rights Committee of the D.C. Bar International
Law Section needs volunteers to staff the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program’s
Free
Legal Advice and Referral Clinic. The clinic is held every second
Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at two locations: Bread
for the City, 1525 7th Street NW, and Max Robinson Center, 2301 Martin
Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.
Attorneys meet with noncitizens who have immigration questions or concerns, offer general information about immigration law, and refer them to local legal or social service agencies for further assistance and/or representation.
Volunteer attorneys are not expected to take on any cases through the clinic. This is a great way to contribute in an area of immense need by giving a couple hours of your time a few times a year. If interested in staffing the clinic, please contact John Ingrassia at jingrassia@proskauer.com.

Mentor Program
From time to time the International Law Section receives requests from
law students and law schools for attorneys in international practice
willing to speak to students about international legal careers. If you
are willing to be contacted as a potential mentor, please send your
name to John Ingrassia at
jingrassia@proskauer.com.
Spring Pro Bono Fair
The section hosts a Pro Bono Fair each spring to highlight pro bono
opportunities in international law. Last year’s fair drew more
than a dozen nonprofit organizations in need of volunteer assistance
and numerous volunteer attorneys. If you would like to participate in
the Pro Bono Fair (as an organization seeking volunteer attorneys),
or if you would like to help organize the fair, please contact John
Ingrassia at
jingrassia@proskauer.com.
U.S. Court of International Trade
The U.S. Court of International Trade seeks volunteers to represent
workers whose petitions for trade adjustment assistance have been denied
by the U.S. Department of Labor and appealed to the U.S. Court of International
Trade. For more information or to volunteer, please contact John Ingrassia
at
jingrassia@proskauer.com.
