The Intellectual Property Law Section has held outreach events that have included inviting students from D.C. area high schools to go on board the schooner Amistad during its visit to Washington, D.C. 

Another event includes the annual Benjamin Banneker Academic High School Science Fair, which has been a rewarding and fun community outreach project for the Intellectual Property Law Section since 1996. Volunteers from the section and other sections serve as judges for a day, rendering a decision on the work of some of the best scientific student minds at D.C.’s Banneker High School.

We believe success breeds success. The combination of Banneker student’s potential and our members’ professional acumen produce a science fair that is memorable and beneficial—for both students and lawyers.
