Honors and Appointments
Brian H. Bieber, a partner at Hirschhorn & Bieber, P.A. in
Coral Gables, Florida, has been elected to the board of directors of
the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, based in Washington,
D.C.… Sara Orr, an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP
and a member of the firm’s environment, land use and resources
department, has been appointed to serve a three-year term as a member
of the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Environmental
Law… Michael J. Zimmer has been named to the American Council
on Renewable Energy National Leadership Council and as cochair of the
American Bar Association Renewable and Distributed Energy Resources
Committee… Warren L. Miller, president of Warren L. Miller,
PC, was commencement speaker at Central Michigan University and received
an honorary doctorate degree in public service. He also was recognized
for his role in the creation of several Holocaust memorials and related
projects throughout Europe. Miller is chair of the U.S. Commission for
the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, a position to which
he was appointed by the president of the United States… Robert
J. Grey Jr. was appointed as interim executive director of the Leadership
Council on Legal Diversity.

Barry Fleishman has joined Kilpatrick Stockton LLP as partner,
expanding the firm’s insurance coverage team… J. Aloysius
Hogan has joined Jackson Lewis LLP as of counsel, assisting the
firm’s government relations practice and concentrating on its
growing lobbying efforts… Kevin B. McCoy, formerly a senior
associate at the management labor and employment law firm of Kruchko
& Fries, has been promoted to partner… Stephen J. Crimmins
has joined K&L Gates LLP as a partner in the firm’s securities
enforcement practice… Melissa Gilmore has joined McGuireWoods
LLP, focusing on assisting clients in matters involving the U.S. Food
and Drug Administration… Jonathan B. Kreisberg was named
regional director of the National Labor Relations Board’s office
in Hartford, Connecticut… Jennifer Manner has joined the
Federal Communications Commission as deputy chief of the Public Safety
and Homeland Security Bureau… Sean Patrick Roche has joined
Cameron/McEvoy, PLLC as a civil litigator, specializing in business
disputes in state and federal courts… Alan R. Swendiman,
former general counsel at the U.S. Agency for International Development
and the U.S. General Services Administration, is returning to Jackson
& Campbell, P.C. as director… Amy Yeung has joined
ZeniMax Media Inc. as assistant general counsel… Reed Freeman
has joined Morrison & Foerster LLP as partner in its privacy and
data security group… Erica Dominitz has joined Kilpatrick
Stockton LLP as partner, expanding the firm’s insurance coverage
team… James O’Connell has joined Covington &
Burling LLP’s global antitrust and competition law practice as
partner.

Jamie Conrad, founder of Conrad Law & Policy Counsel, wrote
two chapters, “Information Protection” and “Chemical
Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards,” in the book Homeland Security:
Legal & Policy Issues, published by the American Bar Association...
William Josephson, a retired Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver &
Jacobson LLP partner, has published “Senate Election of the Vice
President and House of Representatives Election of the President,”
which appeared in volume 11 of the Journal of Constitutional Law,
published in February 2009… Sandeep Kathuria, counsel for
Sprint Nextel Corporation, authored “Best Practices for Compliance
With the New Government Contractor Compliance and Ethics Rules Under
the Federal Acquisition Regulation” in the summer 2009 issue of
the American Bar Association’s Public Contract Law Journal…
