2007 PBI Report Tracks Firms' Pro Bono Commitments
The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Initiative (PBI) recently published a report on the pro bono legal services provided in 2007 by the largest law firms in the District.
The report, based on a 100 percent response rate from all 42 participating firms, shows that the firms provided a combined 713,199 hours of pro bono service to the community in 2007. This figure represents an increase of 63,461 hours from the 2006 results and is equal to an average of 85 hours of pro bono work for every lawyer in the reporting firms.
The firms also exceeded by 147,336 hours the total pro bono hours to which they committed.
